Required First Step
Before Choosing a Pathway, Begin with Divination
The seeker should not begin by guessing which path is attractive, familiar,
or emotionally appealing. The first step is to complete the seeker intake
and receive divination so that the path is spiritually confirmed.
Divination helps SGI identify what is already governing the seeker’s life:
Orisha alignment, Odu guidance, Khemetian deity correspondence, and the
incarnation objective.
Why Divination Comes First
Divination protects the seeker from entering spiritual training blindly.
It establishes orientation, reveals the forces at work, and helps determine
which SGI pathway should receive first attention.
The purpose is not simply to answer a question. The purpose is to locate
the seeker in relationship to destiny, ancestral responsibility, divine
instruction, and the next stage of spiritual development.
A) Orisha Alignment
Identifies the Orisha forces guiding, protecting, challenging, or calling
the seeker toward initiation, devotion, discipline, or service.
B) Odu Guidance
Reveals the governing Odu, its blessings, warnings, taboos, remedies,
and spiritual instructions for the next stage of life.
C) Khemetian Deities
Clarifies the Khemetian divine principles active in the seeker’s
consciousness, destiny, character development, and sacred work.
D) Incarnation Objectives
Brings focus to why the soul is here, what lessons must be mastered,
and how the seeker may align personal life with divine assignment.
Pathway One
Devotion
Ilekes / Auset / Yemojah
The path of devotion begins with humility, reverence, emotional cleansing,
and sacred relationship. This pathway prepares the heart to receive
spiritual instruction.
Divination may direct the seeker here when the Orisha, Odu, Khemetian
powers, or incarnation objective call for purification, sweetness,
ancestral belonging, or devotional discipline.
Keywords: devotion, cleansing, humility, ilekes, sweetness, receptivity.
Pathway Two
Words of Power
Warriors / Sekert / Olokun
The path of power teaches the initiate how to speak, act, defend, and
stand with spiritual authority. Here the student learns that words are
weapons, vows are contracts, and discipline is protection.
Divination may direct the seeker here when protection, vow correction,
boundary formation, deep-water mysteries, or disciplined sacred speech
are central to the seeker’s next step.
Keywords: warriors, vows, protection, command, discipline, sacred speech.
Pathway Three
Wisdom
Hand of Ifa / Tehuti / Orunmila
The path of wisdom develops spiritual intelligence, interpretation,
divination, study, and alignment with destiny. The student learns to
read signs, patterns, Odu, and sacred instruction.
Divination may direct the seeker here when the incarnation objective
requires study, destiny alignment, Odu literacy, interpretive skill, or
disciplined access to sacred knowledge.
Keywords: Ifa, divination, Odu, study, destiny, interpretation.
Pathway Four
Royalty
Priesthood / Crowning / Sacred Character
The path of royalty teaches the initiate to embody dignity, restraint,
service, and sacred leadership. Royalty is not vanity; it is the burden
of representing the divine with character.
Divination may direct the seeker here when the Orisha, Odu, or
incarnation objective indicates priesthood, public responsibility,
leadership, crowning, or sacred accountability.
Keywords: priesthood, crowning, leadership, dignity, service, character.
Pathway Five
On Enlightened Shoulders
Ancestral Continuity / Royal Legacy
The fifth pathway gathers the first four and places them upon the
shoulders of enlightened ancestors. It is the path of remembrance,
inheritance, lineage, and responsibility to those who came before.
Divination may direct the seeker here when ancestral obligation, lineage,
name, royal inheritance, spiritual legacy, or elder accountability becomes
the central organizing force.
Keywords: ancestors, lineage, legacy, elevation, remembrance, continuity.
